Page types

FirstSpirit at LMU offers you various page types with specialized features and matching modules for design.

FirstSpirit at LMU offers various page types with specialized features and matching modules for design:

  • Landing pages to introduce detail pages and topics.
  • Detail pages for detailed content and overviews.
  • Specialty pages from data sources such as contacts, news, and events.

There are specialized modules for all page types, allowing you to design your websites and content appropriately. Some modules can only be used on certain page types due to their characteristics, while others are available on all page types.

Landing pages cannot simply be converted into detail pages or vice versa. It is therefore important that you consider in advance which page type is more suitable for the planned content. We recommend that you start with the content that belongs on detail pages and then create the corresponding landing pages in a later step.

Landing pages

about 10% of a website

A landing page is a search engine-optimized page designed to introduce a broad topic and direct users to various subtopics through a range of teaser modules. It does not provide information, but rather piques interest in a specific topic and serves a promotional purpose. As a result, landing pages are highly image-driven and rely on emotional appeal.

For example...

  • Home pages
  • Landing pages for specific target audiences
  • Key topic pages

The landing page is not intended for detailed explanations or complex concepts. For introductory and brief explanatory texts, only the 2-column text module is available on landing pages.

Detail pages

approximately 90% of all pages on a website

The detail page (or "content page”) is the standard page type. Its purpose is to present information, facts, and complex content in a clear and structured manner for LMU’s various target audiences. As the name suggests, detail pages go into detail and contain fewer images than landing pages. To clearly structure complex and text-heavy content for LMU’s target audiences and make it easily accessible, the detail page primarily offers text modules such as “Standard Content.”

For example...

  • Project pages.
  • Study program descriptions.
  • Pages with a lot of text and detailed information.

Specialty pages

Contacts, news, and events are among the so-called "data sources" in FirstSpirit. These are created once by editors in the system and can then be integrated and displayed in many different locations across a web project.

This means you don't have to create multiple pages for people, news, or events: you simply enter the data once in the data editor. FirstSpirit then automatically creates the specific page as soon as it is accessed by a user.

Contacts

Contact pages list all the details about a person that have been saved in the data editor.

In addition to standard contact information, you can also integrate a variety of modules into a profile page that are also available on other page types. These can be used, for example, to clearly present a resume, the support team, or publications.

News

News pages provide detailed coverage of stories and announcements.

In addition to the standard fields, additional modules can also be used here to provide a more detailed presentation, such as the integration of an image slider or a video.

Events

Events are described in detail on the event pages.

In addition to the standard fields, additional modules can also be integrated here, such as event registration via Anny.
